The North Coast Offshore Wind Community Benefit Network and the Redwood CORE Hub had an opportunity to meet with U.S. Congressman Jared Huffman on Wednesday, Oct. 5, to discuss how the Congressman might support the community benefit recommendations and lease stipulations outlined in the Network’s comments submitted to the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management on the Proposed Sale Notice of the Pacific Wind Lease Sale 1 for Commercial Leasing for Wind Power. Network and comment letter signatory meeting participants included Tribal Nations, labor, workforce/career pathways, environmental organizations, and representatives of key community infrastructure.
Specifically, the goal was to secure his support in advancing the community benefit recommendations with the Department of the Interior, the White House and the State. We thank the Congressman, his staff, and all members of the Community Benefits Network for their efforts in this work.
