A graduate of Humboldt State University, Matthew Marshall has spent over 10 years serving as the Executive Director of the Redwood Coast Energy Authority, a local government Joint Powers Agency dedicated to implementing sustainable energy initiatives in the region. His work in this role has been focused on increasing awareness of and access to energy efficiency and renewable energy opportunities available to Humboldt County residents. Prior to this work, Matthew worked as the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Program Administrator for the City and County of Denver, where he managed and led greenhouse gas reduction projects and community partnerships in support of Denver’s Climate Action Plan. Matthew is President of the California Community Choice Association (CalCCA), the trade association of local government community-choice power providers that collectively serve over 11 million customers across the state. He also serves on the board of directors of several community non-profits, including the Trinidad Coastal Land Trust, the Redwood Parks Conservancy, and the Greater Eureka Chamber of Commerce. He plays the bagpipes, enjoys making art, and is an Assistant Chief of the Westhaven Volunteer Fire Department.
